The Robert D. Linder History Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students who are declared history majors in the College of Arts and
Sciences at Kansas State University. Four $1000 scholarships are offered yearly to recipients on the basis of financial need and academic excellence. Each year a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior history student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 receive a scholarship.
This scholarship was established in 1987 in honor of Dr. Robert Linder, a native Kansan and Professor of History at Kansas State University since 1965, by his numerous friends and former students. Because of his interest in Australian church history, he has come to be known as “Crocodile Bob.” He was named a University Distinguished Professor by Kansas State in 2003.
